Your adventure begins with a departure from Fes toward southern Morocco. The first stop is Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its clean streets, green surroundings, and alpine-style buildings.

Continue toward the cedar forests near Azrou, where Barbary macaques can often be seen among the trees. Travel through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping along the way for lunch and panoramic views.

In the afternoon, cross mountain passes overlooking the beautiful Ziz Valley, famous for its endless palm groves and oasis scenery. Pass through desert towns known for dates and fossil craftsmanship, with the possibility of visiting a local fossil workshop.

By evening, arrive near the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Enjoy dinner accompanied by traditional music and experience your first taste of the magical desert atmosphere.

Day 2: Merzouga Area – Desert Exploration – Nomads – Camel Trek – Desert Camp

After breakfast, continue your journey with an off-road 4×4 desert excursion. Explore the surrounding landscapes, including abandoned mining areas once used for traditional cosmetic minerals.

Visit nomadic families and discover their way of life while sharing a cup of traditional mint tea. Continue to Khamlia village, famous for its Gnawa music and rich African cultural heritage, where local musicians perform traditional rhythms and songs.

Later, enjoy a peaceful walk through nearby palm groves before preparing for a camel trek across the dunes at sunset. Watch the changing colors of the Sahara as you ride toward the desert camp.

Upon arrival, enjoy tea, dinner, and traditional music around the campfire before spending the night beneath the stars in the heart of the desert.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Wake early to admire a breathtaking desert sunrise before breakfast. Return by camel and continue toward Rissani, a historic desert town famous for its traditional market and trading history.

Next, visit Erfoud, well known for its fossils and unique stone craftsmanship. Travel through palm-filled valleys and small Berber villages, stopping for lunch along the route.

In the afternoon, arrive at the spectacular Todra Gorge, where massive canyon walls create one of Morocco’s most impressive natural landscapes. After exploring the gorge, continue to the Dades Valley, stopping at scenic viewpoints to admire unusual rock formations and panoramic scenery.
